Our Approach to Portrait & Branding Photography

Every portrait session begins with conversation and creative exploration of your goals and unique energy.

We approach personal brand photography as a collaborative process shaped by creative flow, artistic inspiration, and visual intuition. We talk over ideas and inspirations in a pre-session planning call, and identify images you may need for different marketing and promotional needs.

On the day of the photoshoot, going with the flow is where the real magic is found. Rather than rigid posing, we guide gently through a mixture of movements and peaceful moments, following the light and the inspiration that naturally unfolds.

Through a blend of documentary portraiture, editorial influence, and personal branding strategy, plus wherever the creative muse takes us, we create artistic imagery that radiates your energy.

  • Our creative portrait / personal branding photography sessions are for artists, entrepreneurs, founders, creatives, professionals, musicians, makers, authors, and anyone who wants portraits with personality and depth, photographed from an artistic perspective.

  • Yes, definitely! Most of our clients say they feel uncomfortable in front of the camera before we begin.

    Our approach is relaxed, collaborative, and fun!!

    We do not like stiff, awkward poses, or making you feel uncomfortable in any way.

    During the photo session, we create an environment where you can move naturally and comfortably. We’ll lightly direct you into natural, flattering movements and interactions with your surroundings, so you can relax, and just be yourself. :)

  • We'll guide you through the planning process together.

    On our planning call we'll discuss the goal of your session and how and where you’d like to use the photos. We’ll identify the overall vibe you’d like and go over locations, wardrobe, colors, props, and any other ideas you have. Sometimes we’ll make a must-have shot list, if necessary for the session.

    We encourage clients to choose clothing that feels comfortable and reflects their personality rather than following trends.

    The most compelling portraits come from feeling confident and at ease, surrounded by elements that make you feel happy and beautiful.

  • Most of our sessions are photographed on location throughout Portland, Oregon, and the surrounding area. There are so many gorgeous, incredible photo locations here!

    We’re happy to share our top photoshoot locations in Portland, Oregon, the Columbia River Gorge, and beyond.

    We love working in spaces that feel meaningful to you- surrounded by gorgeous nature, in your studio, office, neighborhood, favorite café, home, or anywhere else that reflects your vibe.

  • Yes! Many personal branding sessions include environmental portraits, behind-the-scenes moments, photos showing your process, products, tools, art, or the places where you do your work.

  • We offer several portrait session options depending on the amount of coverage you need.

    Our packages range from a one-hour session to provide a simple collection of updated portraits through full-day comprehensive personal branding sessions. We'll help you choose the option that best fits your goals.

  • Definitely!!

    Many clients choose to combine personal branding photography with short-form video content, to build a content library, or to create a brand film during the same session.

    Creating both at once is a great use of time, and allows you to take advantage of being photo/video ready and the location, and results in a cohesive visual identity.

  • The number of final images depends on the length of session you choose. Every photograph is individually selected and professionally edited before delivery.
