Creative Portrait,
Commercial & Brand
Photography in Portland, Oregon
For businesses and creatives, strong imagery shapes how your brand is understood before a single conversation happens.
It builds recognition, trust, and a sense of presence in a world where most first impressions are made on a screen.
When your visuals reflect the essence of who you are and what you do, your ideal customers feel drawn to you immediately.
A photo session is a chance to embody your truest self, highlight the beauty of your business or products, and create an authentic connection with the people you want to reach.
From the initial creative visioning, to planning and coordination, through day-of direction and post-processing, we love collaborating with businesses and creatives to create images that glow with your energy. Our goal is to create photographs that look beautiful and continue to work for you long after they are made.

Most of our photo sessions are on location — the environment is an important part of the story told through photos. We regularly photograph people immersed in nature, or in their businesses, studios, offices, workshops, homes, rented styled spaces, neighborhoods or other outdoor spaces throughout Portland and the Pacific Northwest.
For projects that require an in-studio look, we're also happy to find the perfect studio location for the session!

-
We can photoshoot in as many locations as you’d like! Make sure to book an adequate amount of time for your session, and we’ll help you plan it so everything flows smoothly.
-
You’ll want to take into consideration how many outfits, locations, and final images you’d like to have. This also depends on other people that might be in the photos, and the timing of everything. We can help talk through all of this if you’re not sure what to do.
-
To have fun!!! That’s really the most important part. When you’re enjoying yourself, it’s going to shine through in the images. We’ll walk around our location, and shoot where we’re inspired, in beautiful spots & great lighting. Chelsea lightly directs the session, and Nick often comes along to assist. Definitely bring something to drink and your basics like lip gloss, lotion, hairspray, etc.
-
We suggest doing what makes you feel most empowered! We want to see the happiest version of your authentic self. For some, that includes working with a hairstylist, makeup artist, wardrobe stylist, etc. For others, that doesn’t resonate at all. Both ways are perfect, whatever makes you feel most confident and comfortable is what you should do.
-
We love moodboards for this reason!! (Read our post on making an effective one here.) Feel free to send us any screenshots, Pinterest boards, Google docs, however you gather your inspiration. We can analyze these to determine what specifically you love about the photos, and how we can infuse a similar style into our photo session. We don’t recommend trying to exactly recreate photos that you’ve seen — we can take inspiration and run with it, making imagery that fits the vibe you like, and is totally unique to you.
-
Absolutely!!
Very often our clients will share that they are nervous and don’t know how to be on camera or pose.
Don’t worry about posing or not knowing what to do, at all! We’ll make the shoot feel easy and natural, and have a lot of fun!
We’ll lightly direct you into poses that feel natural and authentic, incorporating movement and the inspirations of the moment.
We like to keep things laid back. As we wander our location(s) we’ll talk and probably laugh a lot, working with our surroundings and the lighting to make images that are flattering and full of life.
We want you to feel totally comfortable, confident, and to have a great time.
-
Absolutely! Feel free to bring along any human or animal companions you’d like, all are welcome. They can always jump in for some photos of you two together too.

Our work blends a documentary and artistic approach.
We are super not into overly-posed, awkward and sterile feeling imagery. During photoshoots, we’re fully immersed in the moment, tapping into creative flow and really seeing the subject we’re photographing. Our goal is to create images that feel natural, expressive, and reflective of that energy.
Whether we're photographing a founder, an artist, documenting a nonprofit, or creating commercial imagery for a business, we create images that feel authentic, and express the unique beauty and spirit of the people and places we’re photographing.

I would LOVE to! I shoot on both 35mm film and Polaroid/Instax film. An extra rate will apply for the film and processing.
